When to Use This Version

We would use this version to test the equality of two population proportions.

Assumptions The following assumptions are made:

• We have independent simple random samples from each of two populations.
• $n_1\hat{p_1}(1-\hat{p_1})\geq 10$ and $n_2\hat{p_2}(1-\hat{p_2})\geq 10$ .
• The sample sizes $n_1$ and $n_2$ are no more than $5\%$ of the respective population.
